I adopted a Manatee last night. His name is doc. Doc lives in Blue Spring. He has returned there every winter since 1976. He goes there a lot in the summer too. He is a full grown male and he is very friendly. It was only $35 to adopt the manatee Doc. The $35 is going to save the manatees from cold stress and boats. If you could try to save manatees by adopting one that would be great! You can do that by going to http://www.savethemanatee.org/default.html. Here is a picture of doc

Hello Ella,
This is Aunt Jan and Uncle Paul in California. We are so pleased to respond to your blog. We have been conservationists for years. We choose to use the World Wildlife Foundation to support our wonderful creature friends and are so impressed that you want to do the same. We will gladly donate $35 to save the manatees. We just need to know how and will figure that out.
I am finally on Thanksgiving vacation, as I hope you and your Dad are, too. It is raining here in California. Say “Hi” to your Mom and have a lovely Thanksgiving. We sure wish you were here and hope to see you soon.
Much Love, AJ and Uncle Paul
PS Give Brady a hug for us!

Hi Ella,
Doc is a beautiful manatee and a very special one because he was adopted by a very special girl. I also watched the video on the polar bears and felt so proud that you would make this video available on your blog. I have always loved animals, too, but it is time for me to learn more and become involved. I am considering making a donation to one of these efforts.

I am so happy for you and for Doc ,Ella. You know how much I love manatees. When I was teaching school my fifth grade class adopted a manatee called “Brutus” from Blue Springs. Isn’t that amazing. That was over 20 yrs ago. We had T-shirts printed up for everyone with his picture on it. Your Daddy and Uncle Buck even had one and still remeber Brutus. Grama and I definitely want to sponser one. Thanks for all the great info. All of your blogs are great and very interesting. You’re awesome!
